FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. Is the degree awarded by this University
recognised by other institutions for higher studies?
Ans. Yes, it is. The Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi University is a Central
University established by an Act of Parliament in
1997 with an All-India jurisdiction. It is a member
of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and
the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU).
All degrees / certificates awarded by this
University are recognised for admission in all
Universities of India.
2. Who is eligible for admission?
Ans. All persons who have completed
their Graduation from a recognised Indian / International Universities of the State / Central
government can apply for admission to the Post
Graduation Degree programme after appearing for the
eligibility test.
3. Who should appear for the Eligibility
Test?
Ans. The Eligibility test is meant
for those candidates who are desirous of applying
for the Post Graduation degree programme of the
University. Students appearing for the Eligibility
Test must first submit the concerned form.
Appearance at Eligibility Test does not qualify a
candidate for admission to the degree programme of
the University.
4. What is the period of enrolment for a
course of study?
Ans. A student, once granted
admission, is enrolled for a period of Two years in
case of the Two year degree course. This means that
he / she will have to complete the course in this
period. In case of M.Phil.the period of enrolment is
one years. And in case of Ph.D.the period of
enrolment is five years.
5. Can I enrol for two degree programmes
simultaneously in the University?
Ans. No. This is not permitted,
as per the UGC guidelines. However, a candidate may
be enrolled in a degree and a Certificate programme
of this University. In such case, the University
will not be responsible if there is a clash in the
dates of counselling or examinations of these
courses.
6. Does the University hold supplementary
exams?
Ans.
No. The University does not hold any supplementary
exams. Exams are held only twice(semester wise) a
year for all the courses.
7. Is there any extended last date for submitting
applications with late fees?
Ans. No. There is no extended last
date for submission of application forms. No late
fee is charged. Candidates must ensure that their
applications reach the University within the
prescribed date. Please take care that your
application is complete in all respects. Incomplete,
illegible forms or those received after the last
date shall be summarily rejected and the fees shall
not be refunded. The University shall entertain no
correspondence in this regard.
8. I have not received the I – card / The I
– Card sent is not mine / The I –
Ans. Card has my name but the photograph is not mine.
What do I do?
In case the I- Card has not been received, the
student is advised to send a postage stamp size
photograph along with a D.D. of Rs. 10/- and a
requisition for issue of duplicate I card to the
Registrar, Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi
Vishwavidyalaya, Wardha-442001(Maharashtra). A
duplicate shall be despatched to him / her by post.
In cases where the name or photograph are incorrect,
the candidate may return the I – Card in original
with a letter marking the correction of name /
photograph or other particulars. The University
shall verify these facts as per records and return
the corrected I – card to the student by post.
9. Can I change my course of study?
Ans. Yes you can. But this is allowed only once in your
period of enrolment and has to be done within a
month of the starting of Coures on the submission of
a written request addressed to the Registrar,mahatma
Gandhi antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya,
Wardha-442001(Maharashtra).
10. Does the University issue a Transfer Certificate?
Ans. No
11. How can I receive my Bonafide and Migration Certificate?
Ans. Bonafied and Migration Certificate are issued on application by student after payment of prescribed fees.
12. Which are the subjects for entrance examination, of M.A. Stri Adhyayan (Women studies)?
Ans. General awareness of womens issues in the areas of Health, Media, Law, Economic and Polotical participation and Literature
13. Which are the subjects for entrance examination, of M.A. Anuvad Proudyogoki (Translation Technology)?
Ans. General Knowledge, Hindi language and
English language and Translation.
14. Which are the subjects for entrance examination, of M.A. Ahimsa aur Shanti Adhyayan (Non-voilance and peace studies)?
Ans. About Ahimsa, Shanti, Gandhi and other Gandhian thinkers. Objective, Subjective etc.
5. Which are the subjects for entrance examination, of M.A. Tulnatmak Sahitya (Comparative
Literature)?
Ans. Hindi Language, History of Literature,
Poetry (basic).
16. Which are the subjects for entrance
examination, of M.A. Bhasha Proudyogiki (Language
Technology)?
Ans. Language Technology, Computational Linguistics,Linguistics, Applied Linguistics.
17. Which are the subjects for entrance
examination, of M.A. Jansanchar madhyam avan
sampresion (Mass Media and Communication)?
Ans. History of- Print,Electronic media and current affairs(print and electronic media)
18. Who is eligible for M.A. in . Women studies, Translation Technology, Ahimsa aur Shanti Adhyayan, Tulnatmak Sahitya, Bhasha Proudyogiki, Mass Media and Communication.
Ans. For GENERAL and OBC category – 50% and for SC/ST category – 45% in graduation.
